A funny API decription

Maybe I'm weird, but I giggle when people talk about databases crying. The Flickr search api justifies a requirement as follows:

Geo queries require some sort of limiting agent in order to prevent the database from crying.

Flickr: Tags , Sets and Virtual Sets

I'm a big fan of flickr, and have been a little confused between Tags and
Sets. In a nutshell here is the difference:
  • Sets - a container for pictures ( a picture can be in multiple sets)
  • Tags - a property of a picture ( a picture can have multiple tags)

This is a weird model. Ideally, you'd be able to make virtual sets from tag
combinations and date ranges. Unfortunately flickr doesn't have this
ability. But what flicker does have is an external API set.

Using this API set I'm working on a tool to make virtual sets from tags.

Flock

Flock is a social blogger I'm plalying with. So far, I'm not overly impressed.

To me it looks like firefox with good del.icio.us integration and a blog editor.

At least it has a nice blog editor :)

Blog Spam

I was amazed, I looked on my blog an I had a comment. But to my dismay it turned out the comment was spam.

Yuk.

Blogging Tools

I found a cool tool that helps me write blog entries. It's called w.blogger. Not full of features, but integrates with blogspot, and understand my multiple blogs.

Privacy - what a novel idea.

Wouldn't it be nice to have some damn privacy. Are you sick of entering your email address password to use some site which doesn't need it. Try using bugmenot.

It's a great idea. God bless the internet.
